Eatonia Oasis Living - September 2009

September 30, 2009

The warm weather this September has been a surprise for everyone at EOL which allowed the residents to spend a few more days outside.  This month we celebrated only one birthday, George Meyer’s birthday was on September 18th.  EOL would like to thank the United Church who hosted the monthly birthday party on September 24th.  Dorothy Boyle passed away on September 4th the staff and residents will miss her greatly.  EOL would like to welcome Guy Boisvert (from Marengo) to our facility who moved in on September 21st.  At the end of September we have a total of 22 residents in our facility.

The residents keep busy this month with a number of activities.  These activities included manicures, baking cookies, watching movies, playing guess the word, and attending church services.  The residents got a chance to bowl three times this month on the Wii; they are really enjoying this activity and request it frequently.   Our residents Agnes Goodwin and Maynard Mastel entertained there fellow residents with piano music during the month of September. The EOL residents and staff would like to thank Barb Wagner who comes to EOL every week to do the residents hair, they really enjoy having this service available to them.

The Board of Directors would like to tender repairs at Eatonia Oasis Living.  These repairs include but are not limited to repairing and patching walls, replacing ceiling tiles, and painting.  Please contact Krista at 967-2447 to set up a time to view the required work.  The tender for repair quotes will be open until November 13, 2009 at 4:00 pm.

The residents would like to acknowledge Darlene Olson who volunteered to serve at the bacon and egg luncheon on September 26th.  An error was made on the previous newsletter, Duane and Connie Cridland served at the bacon and egg luncheon on August 29th.  The staff and residents enjoy seeing and visiting people from our community.  If anyone would like to come to the care home to volunteer their time please give Krista a call at 967-2447 so that we can set up a time to come in.  If anyone in the community is in need of a walker, electric bed or scooters please call Krista at 967-2447.  There are 3 walkers, 1 electric bed and 1 scooter available for resale.  Please call the office and set up a time to view these items.
