Eatonia Oasis Living – April 2009

May 1, 2009

The month of April has passed by quickly and the residents are restless to enjoy some nice weather which is hopefully around the corner.  There were two birthdays to celebrate this month, Alice Redstone and Laviah Hayes’s birthdays were on April 3rd and 8th respectively.  We would like to thank the United Church women who hosted the monthly birthday party on April 16th.  Alice’s and Laviah’s family also celebrated their birthdays in our home and brought cake that all of the resident’s could enjoy.  This past month we said goodbye to two of our residents, Pete Abelseth and Randall Alexander moved out of our facility.  All of the residents and staff will miss their company!

The Eatonia Health Care Auxiliary is planning a “Come and Go Mother’s Day Tea & Bake Sale” on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  The bake sale begins at 3:00 pm.  The resident’s families are invited to come to the care home and have tea with their mother or relative.  We have also found a set of house and mail keys in a chair in the activity room.  These keys have two pictures of children on the key chain as well.  Please give the care home a call at 967-2447 to claim these keys.

During the month of April the residents were able to enjoy some different activities.    The residents have kept busy by playing bowling on the Wii, bingo, shuffleboard, attending Church services, balloon badminton, having manicures and playing guess the word.  The residents and staff would like to thank Marie Smith who came to the home this month to make crafts to decorate the home for spring.  For the entrance way wreath the residents made colorful flowers.
