The mThe month of May has quickly come and gone in the Personal Care Home. During the month of May the residents celebrated Mother’s Day on May 10th as well as one birthday; Marj Cooke’s celebrated her birthday on May 10th. We would like to thank the Catholic Church women who hosted the monthly birthday party on May 21st. This past month we said goodbye to two of our residents, Adeline Nunweiler passed away on May 7th and Peter Reimer moved to another facility on May 23rd. All of the residents and staff will miss their company.
The EOL Auxiliary held the Mother’s Day Tea and Bake Sale on May 9th which was a great success. The residents spent time on the 5th and 7th making squares to be sold in the bake sale. Other activities that the residents took part in were playing shuffleboard, bingo, guess the word, 5 card bingo, and balloon badminton. The residents watched a movie called “Marlee & Me” and played bowling, Deal or No Deal and the Price is Right on the Wii.
Eatonia Oasis Living would like to thank the Saskatchewan Lotteries for providing funding for activities and exercises that the residents take part in. This funding is used to purchase craft supplies, Wii games, bedding plants and much more. We would like to thank the Brownies and the Sparks who came to the home on May 13th to read poems to the residents. We would also like to thank the Brownies who planted flowers in the front of the building this year on May 27th.
The residents would like to acknowledge Joy Assmus, Carson Assmus, Brooklyn Assmus, Allene Douglas and Lori Adams who have volunteered their time to serve evening lunch. The staff and residents enjoy seeing and visiting people from our community. Donations are received throughout the month of May; if we have missed your name please accept our apology. Thank you for all the donations received.
